Excellent wines from California in a beautiful setting. Try the Pinot and Chardonnay! You won't be disappointed!
Lovely place to stop. Plenty of outdoor seating and a sculpture garden trail. During our visit there was a guitar player providing easy listening background music. The winemaker Tom chatted with me briefly but had to step away when a big bus arrived. All the wines are made from California grapes. I particularly liked the dry chardonnay.
This place is relatively new. They do not grow or bottle on this property. They ship everything in from Sonoma. They had a very limited wine selection. There are 4 whites and 4 reds to choose from. I was disappointed in the tasting room. It was very small and dark. We decided to sit outside. They do not have a big selection of seating outside either so we were lucky there was not a lot of people there. The Abarino was my favorite we tried. It is a light refreshing white with notes of lilies and honey. They said it was a dry not sweet wine but it had a nice light sweet honey flavor that finishes on the palate and that was very nice. I also really enjoyed the Cab. It was bold and very flavorful. I was just really disappointed in the actual building and view. (There was no view) I enjoyed their wine but would not suggest to plan a visit unless you are lucky enough to go when there are not a lot of people there.
Parmeson is owned and operated by winemaker Tom Parmeson who brings his fantastic wines from Sonoma County's Russian River Valley to mingle with the best of Texas' wines. Parmeson is somewhat unique in an area densely populated with Texas wines and within an hour of Texas' wine headquarters, Fredericksburg. Although no Texas wines are offered, Parmeson's Russian River varietals are an excellent representation of California wines and fit for even the most experienced palate. The Chardonnay was especially striking, but every wine offered was stellar.
Parmesan Wines Winery was a joy to visit. Not only do you get to tastes their wines, but you will also have an opportunity to walk through paths of sculptures by local artists. The atmosphere at this winery is worth the visit.
