I'll be honest here, this was some of the best airport food I've ever had. It was a simple breakfast hash bowl with a bunch of breakfast meat, eggs, and breakfast potatoes. It had a nice kick to it and I was super impressed. When I was there, the place was understaffed so people were just waiting around, but the servers were nice, and if I'm in the Austin airport again, I would definitely go back for that dish.
We had a long layover in AUS and were looking for a sit down restaurant to pass the time. We saw 24 Diner had an open table and decided to give it a try. My normal scale for restaurants is lowered when inside an airport because generally they’re all pretty bad. 24 Diner was a surprising exception to this rule. I would come back to 24 Diner if I have to spend some time in AUS again. I ordered the Fried Chicken sandwich which came with coleslaw on top and some French fries. The fried chicken sandwich was crispy and surprisingly delicious. The fries were fresh and crispy. I would recommend 24 Diner to others looking for a good bite in AUS, located near Gate B11.
This is my first bad review in the last 9 years. I always support restaurants regarding bad service. But this experience was really bad. Long story shower the waitress was extremely rude to the point we got in an a argument and I felt that she could do something to my food. When the manager approached I was about to finish, he was attentive but it really picked up my attention that he said I should not ate the food. I had to say he did not let me pay though which I think it was the least he could do. This is an Airport, food safety should be a priority Unbelievable Please do yourself a favor and don't eat in restaurants belonging to HSMHOST
I would give this zero stars if possible. After standing for an extraordinary amount of time at the hostess stand we asked a server if we needed to seat ourselves or wait for a table-she refused to answer us and walked past us like she was too busy to answer. There were no signs at the hostess stand so we wanted to wait until we were told to sit before we assumed we could go into the restaurant and pick out a table. I have sat here for the past 10-15min and watched 3 other couples struggle with the same decision and eventually left without eating here. This is poorly managed and it’s no wonder places are struggling to stay in business. We will spend our money for food in the airport but it won’t be here. We decided to head to MAD Greens and the Burger Hut. We got great service and we’re glad to support other small businesses.
Been to this place twice in the last year when flying through AUS. Food is meh. Service is worse. Everyone was polite, but exceedingly slow even when I told them I had to leave for my flight soon. Last time I ordered a beer and a grilled cheese. Grilled cheese came after 20 minutes, and beer only came later. I told my waiter I had to leave soon and he said that someone "is working on the beer" (it was a tap beer). It wasn't clear to me why they couldn't just pour the beer and give it to me. The people next to me had the same issue with their Margherita. I didn't make a big deal about it and still tipped well since I understand that most food service workers aren't coming in right now. But this is an airport and people are in a hurry. When someone orders a drink, just give it to them without the needless delay.
